Color Me Rad 5K Photos

So back on August 10th my friend Jordan and I were part of the photography team that captured the imagery from the Color Me Rad 5k. It was an interesting event and a fun experience that I learned a lot from. While Jordan and I only had about 2 hours of sleep before the event, we were able to still get the job done.

I fared a little better than Jordan with where I was placed to shoot as I was only slightly covered in colored powder once I was finished (at the end of the race he was covered head to toe in pink powder). I was stationed in the photo booth area at the finish line, so there was less chance of me getting completely covered. While I was told what settings to use and how to shoot, here are a few shots that I am pretty fond of.

Things started out pretty good...

This might have been the turning point...

And the color explosions start...

And now I had to save the best one for last. I love this shot.

I'm Still Here!

Sorry I have not posted much or given many updates on my work or book. It looks like the last proof I have is perfect. I just need to check on one more thing which is a printing error on the printing companies end. Other than that the book looks to be finished and ready to release...

So that's where I need a little bit of help from the people in Seattle...

Hey Seattle People! I am looking for a space in the next couple weeks to throw a book release party for the photo book I have coming out. Any help would be great. I am looking for a space that is fairly nice and gallery like. Also a space that can serve beer and wine (maybe liquor). I am also seeing if I can do this on the cheap, BUT PREFERABLY FREE. I am not trying to make money, just want to celebrate the release of this book that I have put a lot of my time and effort into.

Here is the front and back covers of the book!

Kickstarter Funding

I wanted to post an update about the fund raising I am doing on Kickstarter for my upcoming photo book.

So, I'm completely blown away by the support that I have been receiving for this funding. It is a wonderful feeling to see that people believe in what I am doing. While I am well over my goal, I wanted to keep pushing the fund raising to see how far it can go.

If you read this post, please take the time to share this link with a friend or two.

Photo Book Preview

Here is another one of the photos that will be in my up coming book "The Pacific Northwest, Captured". Even though this photo was captured on an overcast day, I find it a wonderful image showing an older railroad drawbridge open. This was taken from the Ballard Locks looking west.

I will be launching a Kickstarter page to help raise funds for this book release and I will post some info on here about it once it goes live. I am looking to have a book release party and book release near the end of July. Stay posted...

Photo Book Preview

Here is another photo from my upcoming photo book "The Pacific Northwest, Captured". There will be many different styles of photos in this book all organized in a manner that naturally flows. I can't wait till it is released.

So I just added an email signup for more info about the book and when it will be released. Go ahead and sign up and I will keep you up to date on all the current info. I am working on creating a release party for the book in Seattle and if you have any ideas about that feel free to share.

Photo Book Coming Soon

As the title of this post states, I am coming out with a photo book soon. "The Pacific Northwest, Captured". The process of creating this book has been a huge leaning experience. The photo editing was the easy part, but everything else has been roadblock after roadblock. While there are a few more hurdles I need to jump over, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

So leading up to the release of the book I will be posting some of the photos in it as a bit of a preview. I have created a "Book" page on this blog that you can see at the top and I will be updating that with info about the book and when it will be released.

Here is one of those photos from the book.

Ummm... What Are We Protesting Again?

So now for the second march on May Day. This is the one that I wasn't so fond of. Lots of anger over nothing, lots of damage over nothing, and lots of violence over nothing.

So... It took me a while to figure out what this protest was all about, but I finally found out it was a protest against capitalism. So I was even more confused because I don't see how the damage and violence fits in to this equation.

I think the true reason behind this protest was civil disobedience and destruction because they wanted to and for no other reason. While I might be wrong, it would be nice if there was a clear message put forth and less violence or destruction. Take a look at the photos and I hope they are enjoyable in some sense.

The beginning of the violence...

I almost got hit in the head by a big rock here. Also almost got hit with a small open can of red paint here.

Complete chaos starts now.

And that's a wrap!

Sights from the May Day Demonstration!

One of the things I really like about May Day is the Workers and Immigration rights demonstration. The march that starts in the afternoon is always a fun and jubilant atmosphere. Chanting, dancing, singing, kids, adults, families... Everything!

This was the first march that I was able to photograph in some time. While this first march was peaceful, the second one in the evening that I photographed was not. I did not enjoy the second one. Photos from that march will be posted soon.

The march begins with the sun shinning and the surroundings magnificent.

A moment of calm before the march passes by.

This was my favorite sign from the march and seeing a daughter make this statement made a large impact on me.

Beauty in the Market

Beauty is everywhere you look. The issue is finding what you think is beautiful. This photo I took is of the beautiful Sofia Frost in the Pike Place Market. She is standing next to one of the many fruit and vegetable stands that have amazing vibrant colors.

This is the third photo from the "Market Beauty" posts I have posted. Enjoy and I hope to have some more photos to share of this lovely lady.

Seattle Industrial Silhouette

Recently I was riding my bike around taking photos in the night and I had never shot any at Gasworks Park...  This night was different.

Here is one of those photos I took that night. I wanted to get a dark gritty silhouette of the old gasworks in the park. This is one of the angels that I captured.

VIEWS... That Can't Be Hidden

Like I have posted before, Seattle has some of the most beautiful scenic views from anywhere in the city no matter what time of day. It make me think of this blog post. (My Hometown Is Better Than Yours)

I went out on a photo mission about a week ago and this is one of the beauties I came away with. I really enjoy the mixture of the Olympic Mountain Range, Puget Sound, and the Sailboats in the Shilshole Marina. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Words and Interviews

Over the last few years I have been involved in a couple interviews. One was online but the website it was on was taken down and the other one was a video interview on YouTube.

Here is the interview that's on YouTube from an art show I was involved in...

Isaac Price @ RAW RADIATE - Seattle 8/18/12

And here is a copy of the interview from the website that was taken down. I hope you enjoy them.

Market Beauty Continued

Here is another shot from my photo shoot at the market with Sofia.

It's always a pleasure to spend time and also shoot photos of her. This photograph was taken on the back side of Pike Place Market facing the Puget Sound and The Seattle Great Wheel. I have one more photo from this shoot that I will share soon. Enjoy!

Market Beauty

Finding beauty in a crowded market place can be a joy most people will glance over. I had the pleasure of photographing a wonderful and beautiful lady in the Pike Place Market recently.

Here is one of those splendid photos I took.
